Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dal was a Spanish surrealist artist known for his technical skill, precise draughtsmanship, and the striking and bizarre images in his work. He was born on May 11, 1904 and died on January 23, 1989. Dal was born in Figueres, Catalonia, Spain, and received his formal art education in Madrid. From a young age, he was influenced by Impressionism and Renaissance masters such as Luca, and he became increasingly drawn to Cubism and avant-garde movements. In the late 1920s, he became more interested in Surrealism and joined the Surrealist group in 1929, quickly becoming one of its leading exponents. His most well-known work,
