Swami Chinmayananda Saraswati (Balakrishna Menon; May 8, 1916 – August 3, 1993) was a Hindu spiritual leader and teacher. In 1951, he established the Chinmaya Mission, a global non-profit organisation dedicated to disseminating knowledge of Advaita Vedanta, the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads, and other ancient Hindu scriptures. Chinmayananda led a global Hindu spiritual and cultural renaissance through the Mission, popularising these spiritual texts and values and teaching them in English all over India and abroad.
