Nargis Dutt was born on June 1, 1929 and died on May 3, 1981. She was an Indian politician and actress who appeared in Hindi films. She is regarded as one of the greatest actresses in Indian cinema history, having made her screen debut in a minor role at the age of five with Talash-E-Haq (1935), but her acting career began with the film Tamanna. Nargis appeared in numerous commercially successful as well as critically acclaimed films over the course of her three-decade career, many of which starred her alongside actor Raj Kapoor. She was the younger sister of Anwar Hussain, a well-known actor. Her most well-known role was Radha in the Academy Award-nominated Mother India, for which she received the Filmfare Award.
