Meena Kumari (born Mahjabeen Bano; lived from 1 August 1933 – 31 March 1972 was an Indian cinema actress and poet. She was well known as The Tragedy Queen and lived from 1939 and 1972. Critics referred to Kumari as a "historically unparalleled" Hindi film actress. She appeared in 92 films during the course of her 33-year career, including Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam, Pakeezah, Mere Apne, Aarti, Baiju Bawra, Parineeta, Dil Apna Aur Preet Parai, Foot Path, Dil Ek Mandir, and Kaajal. Meena Kumari received four Filmfare Awards for Best Actress. She won the first Filmfare Best Actress Award for Baiju Bawra in 1954, and she repeated the feat in the second Filmfare.
