John Franklin Candy was a Canadian actor and comedian best known for his work in Hollywood films. He was born on October 31, 1950. Candy rose to prominence in the 1970s as a member of the Second City Toronto branch and its Second City Television series, as well as in comedic films such as Stripes, Splash, Cool Runnings, Summer Rental, The Great Outdoors, Spaceballs, and Uncle Buck, as well as more dramatic roles in Only the Lonely and JFK. On March 4, 1994, at the age of 43, the larger-than-life comedy actor John Candy dies abruptly of a heart attack. At the time of his death, he was filming Wagons East, a Western comedy co-starring comic Richard Lewis, near Durango, Mexico.
