She began her acting career as the daughter of actor Shakti Kapoor, with a minor appearance in the 2010 heist thriller Adolescent Patti, followed by her first big role in the teen drama Luv Ka The End (2011). Kapoor rose to prominence after portraying a singer in the commercially popular love movie Aashiqui 2 (2013), for which she garnered a Filmfare Award nomination.
