Due to the increased popularity and demand for Pepsi-Cola Syrup, the Pepsi-Cola Company was founded in late 1902, with Caleb Bradham as the first president. The company grew, and on June 16, 1903, "Pepsi-Cola" was registered as a trademark. By 1904, Pepsi-Cola Syrup had sold over 20,000 gallons. As the drink's popularity grew, Bradham thought it was time to sell Pepsi-Cola in bottles. By 1910, there were 240 franchisees in 24 states, and the Pepsi-Cola Company hosted its inaugural Bottler Convention in New Bern that year.
