June 15

Anna Hazare, the man who inspired India's apathetic young to speak up against pervasive corruption, is one of the country's most recognised social activists. Hazare, a proponent of the nonviolent movement, routinely performs hunger strikes in order to bring social concerns to the attention of political parties, forcing them to take action. The old gentleman, who is well into his seventies, has devoted the most of his life to making his community and nation a better place. Kisan Baburao Hazare was born on June 15, 1937, in Bhingar, Gujarat. He was Baburao Hazare's and Laxmi Bai's eldest son.
