Liam John Neeson is a charismatic actor with exceptional talent, range, and calm forcefulness. This famous Irish actor began his career at Dublin's historic Abbey Theatre, where he was discovered by director John Boorman, who cast him as Sir Gawain in the film 'Excalibur.' Following his appearance in that action fantasy, he appeared in a number of films as a supporting actor. He received his first leading part in 'Darkman,' which was a flop. On June 7, 1952, in Ballymena, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, Liam Neeson was born to Katherine, a cook, and Bernard "Barney" Neeson, a caretaker at the local primary school. He has three sisters and is named Liam after a local priest.
