In 1984, Soviet software engineer Alexey Pajitnov created Tetris, a puzzle video game. It has been published by a number of companies for a variety of platforms, most notably during a legal battle over the rights in the late 1980s. After Nintendo published the game for a long time, the rights reverted to Pajitnov in 1996, who co-founded the Tetris Company with Henk Rogers to handle licencing. On June 6, 1984, the first version of Tetris was released into the world. Tetris, which has been around for 33 years, has had the ability to reach a wide range of audiences all over the world.
