The Lunar Roving Vehicle (LRV) is a four-wheeled battery-powered rover that was used on the Moon during the final three missions of the American Apollo programme (15, 16, and 17) in 1971 and 1972. It is commonly referred to as the Moon buggy, a play on the term dune buggy.

On July 31, 1971, David Scott and his fellow Apollo 15 astronaut, James B. Irwin, became the first people to drive on the moon.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, an Austrian-American actor, producer of motion pictures, businessman, former bodybuilder, and politician, was born on July 30, 1947. From 2003 to 2011, he held the office of California's 38th governor. He was the most recent Republican governor of California as of 2022. In 2004 and 2007, Time magazine included Arnold Schwarzenegger in its list of the 100 most influential people in the world.

Dhanpat Rai Srivastava, better known by his pen name Premchand, was an Indian author well-known for his contemporary Hindustani literature. He died on October 8, 1936. Social fiction in Hindi and Urdu was invented by Premchand. He was one of the first writers to address caste systems, the plight of working women, and other issues that were prevalent in late 1880s society.

Mohammed Rafi was an Indian playback singer and musician who lived from 24 December 1924 to 31 July 1980. He is regarded as one of the best and most significant singers to have come from the Indian subcontinent. Rafi was renowned for his vocal range and versatility; his songs ranged from bhajans to classical songs, qawwalis to ghazals, fast, upbeat songs to patriotic songs, sad songs to extremely romantic songs, and patriotic songs to fast, upbeat songs.

Actress Joey Lynn King was born in the United States on July 30, 1999. Joanne Rowling, also known by her pen name J. K. Rowling and born on July 31, 1965, is a British author and philanthropist. She created the seven-volume children's fantasy Harry Potter series, which was released between 1997 and 2007. The series has generated a massive global media franchise with more than 500 million copies sold, at least 70 language translations, and movies and video games.

The eleventh and final king of Awadh, Wajid Ali Shah (30 July 1822–1 September 1887), reigned for nine years, from 13 February 1847 to 11 February 1856. He was an accomplished poet, playwright, dancer, and arts patron. He is widely credited with bringing back Kathak as a significant style of traditional Indian dance.
