Mara Eva Duarte de Perón (born Mara Eva Duarte; 7 May 1919 – 26 July 1952), also known as Eva Perón or Evita, was a politician, activist, and philanthropist from Argentina. She was the wife of Argentine President Juan Domingo Perón (1895–1974) and served as First Lady of Argentina from June 1946 until her death in July 1952.
