In the opening round of the 2003 World Cup in Potchefstroom, South Africa, Namibia played off against Australia. The Australians amassed 301/6 in their 50 overs while batting first. In response, McGrath destroyed Namibia, who gave up after scoring only 45 runs in 14 overs.
