Satyendra Nath Bose, an Indian mathematician and physicist who specialised in theoretical physics, was born on January 1, 1894. In the early 1920s, he collaborated with Albert Einstein to create the foundation for Bose–Einstein statistics and the theory of the Bose–Einstein condensate, which he is best known for. He was a Fellow of the Royal Society and received the Padma Vibhushan, India's second highest civilian honour, from the Government of India in 1954. On February 4, 1974, he passed away.
