Ernst Werner von Siemens was born on December 13, 1816, in Lenthe, Hanover, Germany, as the oldest of fourteen children. Ernst Werner von Siemens, a German inventor and manufacturer of the nineteenth century, was a pioneer of the electrical industry, bringing forth significant technical advancements with many of his innovations. He independently developed the dynamo-electrical theory and invented the pointer telegraph. He was honoured with a number of accolades for his contributions to science and technology.
