Sharad Govindrao Pawar, an Indian politician, was born on December 12, 1940. On three times, he has served as Maharashtra's Chief Minister. He has served in the Indian government as Minister of Defence and Minister of Agriculture. He is the president of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), which he created after leaving the Indian National Congress in 1999. He is the leader of the NCP delegation in the Rajya Sabha, India's upper house of parliament. Maha Vikas Aghadi is his organization's chairperson.

Pandit Ravi Shankar was an Indian composer and musician best known for popularising the Indian classical instrument Sitar around the world. Shankar grew up learning music and performing with his brother's dance ensemble. He began touring India and the United States after serving as the director of All-India Radio. During this time, he worked with a number of prominent musicians, including George Harrison and Philip Glass. He has cooperated with the famed band 'The Beatles,' further popularising Sitar. Shankar, who received three of India's highest civilian honours, died in California in December 2012, at the age of 92.

Pranab Kumar Mukherjee was an Indian statesman who served as the country's 13th president from 2012 to 2017. Her grandmother, Akkammal, was a violinist, and her mother was a well-known Veena performer. She died on December 11, 2004 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She died as a result of bronchopneumonia and heart abnormalities.
