Alfred Bernhard Nobel was born on October 21, 1833, in Stockholm, Sweden. Alfred Nobel is well-known for the yearly prizes he bestows in research, literature, and peace. Despite being born into poverty, his family members were innovative and enterprising; they worked hard and achieved success. Alfred was the family's scientist, creating and producing dynamite, the blasting cap, gelignite, and ballistite. He became extremely wealthy as a result of the profits from his explosives enterprises. Alfred Nobel died on December 10, 1896, at the age of 63, in San Remo, Italy, of a stroke.
