Mandela died on 5 December 2013 at the age of 95, at about 20:50 local time, at his home in Houghton, accompanied by his family, after suffering from a lengthy respiratory ailment. Zuma's death was revealed on television, and he declared ten days of national mourning, a memorial ceremony at Johannesburg's FNB Stadium on December 10, 2013, and December 8 as a national day of prayer and meditation. Mandela's remains lay in state at the Union Buildings in Pretoria from December 11 to 13, and a state funeral was performed on December 15 at Qunu.
