Napoleon I was the French Emperor from 1804 through 1814, and again in 1815. During the Napoleonic Wars, Napoleon controlled European and global events for more than a decade while leading France against a succession of alliances. He won the great majority of these wars and conflicts, establishing a massive empire that dominated over continental Europe until its eventual collapse in 1815. His conflicts and campaigns are studied in military colleges all throughout the world, making him one of history's greatest commanders. He is still one of the most well-known and divisive political personalities in history.

The Bhopal catastrophe, also known as the Bhopal gas tragedy, occurred on the night of December 2–3, 1984, at the Union Carbide India Limited (UCIL) pesticide facility in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India, when a gas leak occurred. It is regarded as one of the greatest industrial disasters in history. Methyl isocyanate (MIC) gas was inhaled by over 500,000 persons. The very hazardous chemical found its way into and around the nearby little towns.

Inder Kumar Gujral was born in 1919 to Avtar Narain and Pushpa Gujral in Jhelum, Pakistan. He was born into a family of independence fighters; both of his parents were involved in the liberation movement. Satish and Uma, his brother and sister, also joined the liberation war. Inder Kumar Gujral, popularly known as I.K. Gujral, was an Indian politician who was the country's twelfth Prime Minister. He was a poet who discovered his true vocation in politics during his undergraduate years. He came from a family of great patriots; his father and mother were active in the independence movement, and his sister and brother were also renowned as freedom fighters at the time.

On the night of December 4/5, three missile boats, accompanied by two corvettes, assaulted Karachi, destroying the destroyer PNS Khaibar, the minesweeper Muhafiz, and a merchant ship. On the night of December 7/8, another missile boat, escorted by two frigates, fired four missiles into Karachi harbour, destroying the tanker Dacca, sinking a merchant ship, and setting a massive gasoline tank farm ablaze. Aside from the material and psychological damage sustained, the Indian Naval was successful in encircling the Pakistani navy in Karachi.

Ramaswamy Venkataraman, born 4 December 1910, was an Indian lawyer, independence campaigner, and politician who served as a Union Minister and as India's eighth president. Venkataraman was born in the hamlet of Rajamadam in the Tanjore district of Madras Presidency. He studied law and worked as a lawyer in the Madras High Court and the Supreme Court of India. He was a participant in the Indian independence struggle and took part in the Quit India Movement when he was young.

On December 4, 1829, the then-Governor-General Lord William Bentinck issued the Bengal Sati Regulation, which prohibited the practice of Sati in all jurisdictions of British India. Sati practise was classified in the rule as repugnant to human sensibilities. Sati, often written Suttee, is a Hindu tradition in which a newly bereaved lady immolates herself on her deceased husband's pyre, either voluntarily or by coercion. Sati, also known as Suttee, is derived from the name of the goddess Sati, who immolated herself because she couldn't take her father Daksha's humiliation of her husband Shiva.

Chandrashekhar Azad Ravan (born 3 December 1986) is a Dalit-Bahujan rights activist from India. He is an Ambedkarite who co-founded and serves as national president of the Bhim Army. Time magazine will include him in its annual list of 100 Emerging Leaders Shaping the Future in February 2021.

Shashi Kapoor (born Balbir Raj Kapoor; 18 March 1938 – 4 December 2017) was a Hindi cinema actor and producer. He was nominated for four National Film Awards and two Filmfare Awards, and he appeared in a number of English-language foreign films, notably those produced by Merchant Ivory. He died of aspiration pneumonia at the age of 79.

Kanaka Dasa was a Haridasa, a well-known Carnatic music composer, poet, philosopher, and musician. He is well-known for his keertanas and ugabhoga, which are compositions in Kannada for Carnatic music. For his writings, he employed basic Kannada language and native metrical styles, as did other Haridasas. Kanakadasa Jayanti is observed to honour their great poet, saint, philosopher, composer, and musician. On December 3, 1509, he was born.

King Camp Gillette was an American businessman who lived from January 5, 1855 to July 9, 1932.  He created a popular version of the safety razor. Before Gillette's creation, there were other versions. The tiny, affordable, disposable stamped steel blade was Gillette's breakthrough. Gillette is incorrectly credited with developing the "razor and blades" business strategy, in which razors are marketed inexpensively in order to boost the demand for blades. Gillette Safety Razor Company, on the other hand, embraced the business strategy of its rivals.

Ip Man, also known as Yip Man died on 2nd December 1972. He was a Chinese martial artist who was a grandmaster of the Wing Chun martial art. He taught a number of students who went on to become martial arts experts in their own right, the most well-known of whom being Bruce Lee.

Giovanni "Gianni" Versace was an Italian fashion designer and businessman who was born on December 2, 1946. Versace, a worldwide luxury fashion brand that manufactures accessories, perfumes, make-up, home furnishings, and clothing, was founded by him. He was the world's most famous Italian fashion designer, as well as a costume designer for theatre and movies. He was one of the first designers to mix fashion with music, being a friend of Eric Clapton, Princess Diana, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Madonna, Elton John, Tupac Shakur, and many other celebrities.
