The Bombay High Court was one of three High Courts in India established by Letters Patent granted by Queen Victoria on June 26, 1862, at the Presidency Towns. The High Courts Act of 1861 established it on August 14, 1862. Work on the current High Court building began in April 1871 and was completed in November 1878. Col. James A. Fuller, a British engineer, designed it. The first meeting in this building took place on January 10, 1879.

Michael Fred Phelps is a former competitive swimmer from the United States. With 28 medals, he is the most successful and decorated Olympian of all time. Phelps returned to the pool and won two more gold medals, in the 100m butterfly and the 4x100m medley relay, to finish with six medals, making him the most successful swimmer for the third Olympics in a row. Johnny Lever (born 14 August 1957 as John Prakash Rao Janumala) is an Indian actor and comedian best known for his work in Hindi cinema. He was one of India's first stand-up comedians. He has received numerous honours, including thirteen Filmfare Award nominations for Best Performance in a Comic Role, and has won the award twice, for his work in Deewana Mastana (1997) and Dulhe Raja (1998). (1998). He began his career in 1984 and has appeared in over 300 Hindi films.

Sunidhi Chauhan (born 14 August 1983) is an Indian playback singer who began performing in local gatherings at the age of five and made her career debut at the age of thirteen with the film Shastra (1996). During the year, she won Meri Awaz Suno, the first singing reality show, and rose to prominence after recording "Ruki Ruki Si Zindagi" from Mast (1999). It earned her the Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent, as well as a nomination for Best Female Playback Singer. She is well-known for her vocal versatility.

In 1999, Subhash Ghai co-wrote, edited, produced, and directed the Hindi musical romantic drama film Taal. Taal had its world premiere at the Chicago International Film Festival and was a part of the Celebrating Dance in Indian Cinema section at the 45th International Film Festival of India. Teri Bahon Mein, a remake of The Blue Lagoon starring Ayesha Dutt, Jackie Shroff's wife, was also a box office flop. Hum Saath-Saath Hain, released in 1999, is widely regarded as the film that launched Bahl's career. He has appeared in over 100 films and has received two Filmfare nominations.

Shree Amma Yanger Ayyappan (13 August 1963 – 24 February 2018), professionally known as Sridevi, was an Indian actress and film producer who worked in films in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada. She was dubbed India's "First Female Superstar" and received numerous awards, including a National Film Award, a Nandi Award, the Tamil Nadu State Film Award, the Kerala State Film Award, four Filmfare Awards, including a Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award, and three Filmfare Awards South.

Bhikaiji Rustom Cama (24 September 1861 – 13 August 1936), also known as Madam Cama, was a prominent figure in India's independence movement. Bhikaiji Cama was born into a large, prosperous Parsi Zoroastrian family in Bombay (now Mumbai). Her parents, Sorabji Framji Patel and Jaijibai Sorabji Patel, were well-known in the city, where her father, Sorabji, was an influential member of the Parsi community.

Shammi Kapoor (born Shamsher Raj Kapoor;who lived from  October 21, 1931 to  August 14, 2011) was an Indian film actor. He has two Filmfare Awards, one for Best Actor for Brahmachari (1967) and one for Best Supporting Actor for Vidhata (1982). He received the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 1995.

Gautam Rode (born 14 August 1977) is a well-known Indian television actor who has appeared in shows such as Baa Bahoo Aur Baby, Lucky, Saraswatichandra, Suryaputra Karn, and Kaal Bhairav Rahasya 2. Rode made his television debut on Zee TV with the show Jahan Pyaar Mile. In the year 2000, he appeared in TV shows such as Rishtey, Apna Apna Style, and Thriller at 10. In 2002, he made his Bollywood debut with the film Annarth, in which he co-starred with Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Shetty, and Preeti Jhangiani.
