Kane Stuart Williamson (born August 8, 1990) is a New Zealand international cricketer and the current captain of the New Zealand national team across all formats. He bats right-handed and bowls off spin on occasion. In December 2007, Williamson made his first-class debut. The same year, he made his U-19 debut against the visiting Indian U-19 team and was named captain of the New Zealand U-19 team for the 2008 U-19 Cricket World Cup. In 2010, he made his international debut.

STS-28 was the 30th NASA Space Shuttle mission, the fourth shuttle mission dedicated to the United States Department of Defense, and Space Shuttle Columbia's eighth flight. Samir Subash Naik, an ex-professional footballer from India who played as a defender for Dempo SC and India, was born on August 8, 1979. He is currently the Goa Professional League's Dempo SC's head coach. Naik plays regularly for India and is a member of the successful Dempo SC team that won two league championships and advanced to the AFC Cup semifinals.
