Bal Gangadhar Tilak, also known as Lokmanya, was an Indian nationalist, educator, and independence activist. He was born Keshav Gangadhar Tilak on July 23, 1856, and died on August 1, 1920. He made up a third of the trio that comprised Lal Bal Pal. The movement for Indian independence was founded by Tilak.
