Rishi Kapoor was an Indian film actor, director, and producer who worked primarily in Hindi films. He received several honours, including four Filmfare Awards and a National Film Award. In 2018, Kapoor was diagnosed with leukaemia and relocated to New York City for treatment. On September 26, 2019, he returned to India after a year of effective therapy. However, due to lung issues, he was hospitalised to Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital on April 29, 2020. He died of leukaemia on April 30, 2020. His death happened less than 24 hours after Irrfan Khan, another well-known actor and D-Day co-star, died of a colon illness. Kapoor's last ceremonies were held in the Chandanwadi Crematorium, and his ashes were scattered in the Banganga.
