John Felix Anthony Cena, born April 23, 1977, is a professional wrestler, actor, and former rapper from the United States who is currently signed to WWE. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, and he shares the record for the most world championship reigns in professional wrestling history with Ric Flair. Cena moved to California in 1998 to pursue a career as a bodybuilder after being born and raised in West Newbury, Massachusetts. In 1999, he made his professional wrestling debut for Ultimate Pro Wrestling (UPW). In 2001, he signed with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE), and was initially assigned to Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW). He rose to prominence in the WWE by adopting the persona of a trash-talking rapper.
