Anju Bobby George is a retired Indian athlete who was born on April 19, 1977. Anju Bobby George made history by winning the bronze medal in long jump at the 2003 World Athletics Championships in Paris. She became the first Indian athlete to win a medal in a World Championships in Athletics by jumping 6.70 metres. The First Battle of Panipat was fought between Babur's soldiers and Ibrahim Lodhi's forces. The battle took place on April 21, 1526. J. Robert Oppenheimer who lived from April 22, 1904 to  February 18, 1967 was an American theoretical physicist and University of California, Berkeley professor of physics. Oppenheimer was the wartime director of the Los Alamos Laboratory and is widely regarded as the "Father of the Atomic Bomb" for his role in the Manhattan Project, the World War II effort that produced the first nuclear weapons. Every year on April 22, Earth Day commemorates the beginning of the contemporary environmental movement in 1970. It may be difficult to believe that prior to 1970, a business could blast black clouds of poisonous smoke into the air or dump tonnes of hazardous trash into a nearby stream and do it legally.
