Guru Gobind Singh Ji established the Khalsa Panth in Anandpur Sahib in 1699. Khalsas are Sikhs who have completed the Guru Gobind Singh-initiated Amrit Ceremony. When a Sikh male is initiated into the Khalsa, he is given the name Singh, which means "Lion," and a female is given the name Kaur, which means "Princess."
