Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino, also known as Raphael, was an Italian painter and architect of the High Renaissance who lived from April 6, 1483 to April 6, 1520. His work is admired for its form clarity, ease of composition, and visual realisation of the Neoplatonic ideal of human grandeur. He is part of the traditional trinity of great masters of that era, along with Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci.
