World War Two veteran Ray Woolley, who turned 96 on 28 August, plunged for 48 minutes to a depth of 42.4 meters, the event organizers said. He celebrated his birthday by cracking his own record as the world's oldest active scuba diver for the third consecutive year plunging into the depths of the equivalent of a 15-story building to explore a shipwreck off Cyprus. He beat his earlier record of 40.6 meters.
