World population hits 8 Billion, doubles in last five decades

On Tuesday, the world population hit 8 billion. Earlier, the world population had reached an estimated 7,999,950,000. It was reportedly said that the world population would reach 8 billion in about 6 hours. In the last five decades, the global population has doubled from four billion to eight billion.
