Around 6,000 hectares of Poland’s Biebrza National Park - almost 10% - are right now in flames as hundreds of firefighters try to control the blazes. The Environment Ministry has admitted the fire is most likely the result of farmers illegally burning grass. The situation has worsened because Poland is currently facing its worst droughts in decades. The park is located in the north-east near the border with Belarus.
