According to a study that estimates the long term effects of wildfire smoke says smoke pollution due to the bushfire crisis in Australia which blanketed for many months might have killed over 400 people i.e more than 10 times the number killed by the fire itself. The figures are quite alarming and the lead author Fay Johnston estimates 80% of Australia's population was blanketed by smoke this summer.
