Security intensified in Manipur after fleet of oil trucks ambushed

Security measures have been significantly increased in Manipur following an attack by armed miscreants on a convoy of trucks and oil tankers. The attack occurred on Tuesday around 10:30am along the Imphal-Jiribam Highway (National Highway 37) between Shanti Khunou and Kaimai in the Tamenglong district. Two diesel trucks, a petrol truck and an LPG gas tanker were hit as suspected Kuki militants opened indiscriminate fire on them. The attack also led to one truck driver being injured.
