Mouthwash can protect against COVID-19 infection by destroying the coronavirus before it can infect human cells, a new study says. Coronaviruses are classified as 'enveloped viruses'. It means they are covered by a fatty layer but vulnerable to certain chemicals. A team of international researchers has now claimed mouthwash could destroy the outermost layer of the virus stopping its replication in mouth and throat.
