Scientists find microplastics deep in live human lungs for the first time

Scientists from the University of Hull and Hull York Medical School have discovered microplastics in live human lungs for the first time. Researcher's found tiny pieces of plastic less than 0.2 of an inch (5mm) in diameter, in the deepest section of the lung. Due to narrow airways their presence was previously thought to be impossible. Recently, microplastics were discovered in human blood for the first time.
