A worm-like creature that was on earth more than half a billion years ago has been discovered and scientists term it the ancestor for almost all living creatures. The Ikaria wariootia lived around 555 million years ago in Australia. It’s the earliest known bilaterian, with both front and back, two symmetrical sides and openings at either end connected by a gut with a size between 2 and 7mm and up to 2.5mm wide.
