Reliance's Jio Platforms gets nod for satellite internet in India

Reliance Industries's Jio Platforms has been granted permission by the Indian space regulator to operate satellites for high-speed internet. This approval is a significant step forward for Orbit Connect India, a joint venture between Jio Platforms and Luxembourg-based SES, which aims to provide satellite-based internet access. The Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) issued three necessary authorizations in April and June, allowing Orbit Connect to operate satellites above India.
