Philippines air staff finds 119 live tarantula spiders hidden inside shoes

119 live tarantula spiders were discovered by the airport staff in the Philippines. The tarantulas were hidden inside a pair of shoes. "The seized tarantulas were immediately turned over to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Wildlife Traffic Monitoring Unit on October 29 for proper handling and disposal," the customs department said. Tarantulas are rare spider species that are endangered in the Philippines.
