News Corp shuts down 100 Australian newspapers in huge shift to digital

News Corp Australia has announced more than 100 local and regional newspapers will be shifted to digital form only or shut down entirely while there will be a large number of job losses. A total of 112 of Rupert Murdoch’s print newspapers will stop the presses, including 36 which will be closed altogether and 76 will be there as online mastheads. It had suspended 60 papers in April when the pandemic hit the economy.
