4th of December is the Indian Navy Day when the achievements and bravery of the Indian Navy is celebrated. In 1971, on 4th of December Indian navy attacked the Karachi naval base, this day celebrates that where 4 Pakistani vessels were drowned and more than 500 Pakistani navy personnel were killed. Near Gateway of India, Indian Navy will put out a colorful show and the monument will be lit in tricolours.
