Emperor penguins may get wiped due to drastic climate change within 80 years as their icy habitat gets destroyed, a study has revealed. The fate of these birds is tied to the nature of sea ice on which they breed as they build colonies in specific conditions. Ice has to be locked into the shoreline of the Antarctic continent and close enough to open seawater so that the birds can access food for their young ones.
