Coronavirus detected on particles of air pollution

Coronavirus has been detected on particles of air pollution by scientists in Italy’s Bergamo province. They are now investigating whether this could be carried over longer distances and increase the number of infections. A gene highly specific to Covid-19 was identified in multiple outdoor samples. It is still not clear if the virus remains active on pollution particles and in sufficient quantity to inflict disease.
