A Brazilian study working on whether anti-malaria drug chloroquine is effective in treatment of Covid-19 has been halted due to safety concerns. It comes after a high dose of the drug was found lethal to some patients. Chloroquine, and a related drug, hydroxychloroquine, in combination with antibiotic azithromycin, have been claimed as a potential treatment for coronavirus by Donald Trump despite a lack of evidence.
