50 Railway stations to get airport-like facelift, Rs 50,000 crore to be spent on revamping

Several big companies such as GMR, Adani Group, Tata Realty, Shapoorji Pallonji, ISquared Capital, Global Infrastructure Fund, and Essel Group have evinced interest in giving an airport-like facelift to 50 railways stations. The Railway Ministry is mulling to award 50 stations for redevelopment entailing an investment of about Rs 50,000 crore in 2020-21. This is being done to improve security and passenger flow management.
