3 live human botflies removed from American woman’s eye in successful surgery at Delhi hospital

An American woman, who had recently visited the Amazon forests, was diagnosed with a rare case of myiasis, a type of tissue infection, in her eye and underwent a "successful surgery at a private facility here, hospital authorities claimed on Monday. During the operation, "three live human botflies almost 2 cm in size" were removed from the 32-year-old woman, they said.
