Upington
Upington enjoys rainfall in the summer and a mild atmosphere. Its facilities are excellent and the countryside contrasts semi-desert reds with the emerald and olive greens of fertile vineyards, an ideal winter holiday destination. Connected to most parts of the country by air and road, the town is open, provides excellent accommodation and has a well-developed commercial infrastructure.
Kimberley
The capital city of the Northern Cape Province of South Africa is Kimberley. Like the deep, hand-dug Big Pit, it is known for its 19th-century diamond mines. Nearby, in its heyday, the Kimberley Mine Museum is a re-creation of the city and exhibits jewellery and uncut diamonds. Durban
Although Cape Town and Joburg are often overshadowed by bigger sisters cities, the port city of Durban (South Africa's busiest) has plenty to offer all of its own, particularly if you visit during the winter of the southern hemisphere. With average temperatures from June to July in the mid-20s, winter just doesn't happen here! Luckily, as Durban is home to a beautiful stretch of coastline with some famous sandy beaches dotted by the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, all that great weather doesn't go to waste. Spend your days riding the waves on South Africa's east coast or snorkelling or diving to discover life under the waves.
Cape Winelands
It's one of the most picturesque wine-producing regions in the world, located just a 45-minute drive from Cape Town, with undulating vineyards and stunning mountain views from just about everywhere. The exact region you pick depends entirely on you, but two of the most famous are Franschhoek and Stellenbosch. Here, with everything from wine and cheese or biltong dishes (South Africa 's popular dried meat) to outdoor picnics with a bottle of estate wine surrounded by row upon row of vineyards, you will enjoy the exclusive offerings of hundreds of wine estates. After a sensational day of wine tasting, head further afield to cities like Montagu to enjoy the hot springs or Tulbagh to enjoy wine tasting sessions by bike.
Cape Town

Port Elizabeth
Port Elizabeth is a city in South Africa's Eastern Cape Province on Algoa Bay. A major port, it is also popular for its many beaches. The Donkin Heritage Trail leads to the Victorian landmarks of the Old Hill neighbourhood. Coastal cruise tours spot whales and rare seabirds, while elephants, rhinos and other big game are home to wildlife reserves outside the metropolitan area.
East London
East London is a city on the Indian Ocean, in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. It is renowned for its beaches, including Nahoon and Cove Rock. A road crossing a forested valley and the Buffalo River is the Buffalo Pass. The East London Museum displays fossilised human and animal footprints, plus objects from Xhosa-speaking people. In many game reserves nearby, elephants, tigers, zebras and other animals roam.
