Karna Lake, Chandigarh

Karna Lake is a big attraction for visitors in Haryana's Karnal district. It is located 125 km away from both Chandigarh and Delhi, thus serving as a midway stop when travelling on the famous Grand Trunk Road between the two cities. Folklore has it that Karna, a famous Indian character who played a major role in the Mahabharat War, used to swim in this lake.

Sannihit Lake, Chandigarh

It is believed that the lake is a confluence of all the major Sarasvati's (the legendary rivers mentioned in the Vedas) and is therefore one of the region's most revered Hindus.
