Political parties spent less than 1% of their total expenditure on Google, Facebook ads

2019 Indian Lok Sabha election was the costliest election ever, where the EC and the individual candidates have collectively spent around Rs 60,000cr. However, surprisingly, out of this humongous amount of spending, even less than 1% was spent on on digital ads on social media like Facebook and Google. The report also added, including all the expenses, overall Rs700 was spent on each vote on 2019 elections.
