Wisdom teeth, or third molars, usually appear between the ages of 17 and 25. While it varies from person to person, when these teeth appear, they frequently cause problems. Most people have a small jaw, which can cause wisdom teeth to become impacted and unable to break through the gums. Some people's wisdom teeth only partially penetrate their gums, resulting in a flap in their mouth that traps germs. This can result in infections and other problems. Infections, damage to other teeth, and even cysts can result from an impacted teach. Another issue with wisdom teeth is that they are so far back that they can be difficult to clean. This also raises the risk.

In China, stories of an undead creature known as Jiangshi have existed since the Qing Dynasty. Oswald the Lucky Rabbit was the result of a request from Universal in 1927 that Walt and his head animator Ub Iwerks create a cartoon character for them. Oswald was a huge success, with strong merchandising to match. Disney travelled to New York in 1928 to renegotiate his contract with producer Charles Mintz after achieving this success. But Mintz came back with a different proposal: He wanted to reduce the budget. To further aggravate the situation, Mintz was hiring Disney's animators under his nose through secret agreements. Oswald's rights ultimately went to Universal, and Disney felt as though he had lost almost everything as he left New York. But everything functioned as intended.

The original Beauty and the Beast fable was written in 1740 by French author Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve, and the beast was a horrible mix of an elephant and a fish. Antarctic krill are not tiny, despite a common misconception. Yes, Antarctic krill (hence referred to as krill) are categorised as zooplankton, but they are not minuscule; they are larger than several commercially available shrimp species and are around the size of an adult human pinkie. In fact, this variety of krill's Latin name, Euphausia superba, implies that it is the largest and finest species of krill.

Have you ever thought about why you get hiccups? The spasms in your diaphragm compel you to suck in a breath, producing a gulping sound in your voicebox. Hiccups aren't beneficial in today's society, yet they were 370 million years ago. Scientists think that our ancestors had both gills and lungs and that when they pulled water in via their gills, it might aspirate into their lungs. A well-timed hiccup would clear the airway and prevent choking. Even though we no longer have gills, we still love the occasional hiccup!

In Muslim schools around Cape Town, Afrikaans began to replace Malay in 1815, about 100 years before it was made an official language. It was written in Arabic script. The Qur'an and other religious books were frequently translated into Arabic Afrikaans. The Romanized form of Afrikaans that is used now didn't first appear in newspapers until about 1850.

For her suspenseful film about the Iraq war, "The Hurt Locker," Kathryn Bigelow made history by becoming the first woman to win the Oscar for Best Director. This may sound fantastical, but practically every element found on Earth was generated in the blazing core of a star, including all of the elements that make up life on Earth, therefore our bodies are comprised of stardust. Even though he has never been part of the film industry, boxing great Muhammad Ali got a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star in 2002. It was adjudged that boxing is a live performance, which is one of the categories for getting a star. But unlike everyone else, Ali’s star isn’t on the footpath. His is installed on the wall of the Dolby Theatre. According to The Guardian, Ali didn’t want his name stepped on by “people who have no respect for me,” so it was put on the wall. 

Freshwater flounders are a species of fish that may survive for up to five years in an ideal tank environment. These fish are incredibly easy to care for and would complement any freshwater tank.

During the scientific excavation of the site from 1912 to 1915, Hiram Bingham's team collected thousands of artifacts from the ruins and sent them to Yale University. Ceramics, jewelry, silver pieces, and human bones were among the artifacts discovered. For years, the Peruvian government argued that the artifacts should be returned, until Yale finally returned them in 2012.
