Here’s an interesting story! Back in 2012, about 125 students got caught cheating on a government class exam. The world-famous energy drink Red Bull was made in Bangkok by Chaleo Yoovidhya in 1976. He had moved from central Thailand to Bangkok with very little formal education but managed to build a multimillion empire with the help of his Australian business partner Dietrich Mateschitz. At the time of his death in 2012, Yoovidhya was the third richest man in Thailand with an estimated wealth of USD 5 billion. 

However, the syrupy drink he made is quite different from the carbonated version enjoyed across the globe. At some shops in Bangkok, you can find both versions, and decide which one you prefer for yourself.

Augustine nuns founded a hospital in Old Quebec in the 1600s. The Hotel-Dieu de Quebec National Historic Site of Canada is a religious and medical complex that was the first of its sort north of Mexico on the North American continent. A wellness hotel is currently part of this complex. During the Women in Travel Summit, my friend Olivia Christine of O.Christine Blog stayed at this hotel and blogged about her experience.

Each spot in India has its own intriguing story. Shimla is no exception. The popular Embarrassment point in Shimla is where Edge street meets the Shopping center road. There is a fascinating tale about how it got the name, Purportedly the Maharaja of Patiala went gaga for the little girl of the then Emissary of India, and without burning through much time he ran off with her from this very point. As a result of this, the English Government prohibited him from entering Shimla. The Maharaja answered by building himself another late spring capital in neighboring Chail and in this way showed contempt for the English not once but two times.

All veggies that are traditionally fermented in Korea are referred to as "kimchi." In reality, it is more of a processing technique than a distinct meal! The most well-known kimchi is baechu kimchi (nappa cabbage kimchi). Other popular types of kimchi include kkakdugi (cubed daikon (radish) kimchi) and chonggak (radish kimchi with their leaves). The most common ingredients in kimchi are dried red peppers, garlic, and ginger. They may, however, include radishes, onions, shallots, carrots, leeks, Asian pears, apples, seafood (dry shrimp), and other vegetables. So many delicious ingredients!

Above the fire station on Main Street, Walt Disney had his own private - and secret - apartment. The apartment is still standing today, with a light in the window symbolising Walt's presence.
