The Swedish capital has to have one of the nicest public transportation systems in the world. When you go into a Stockholm metro station, you are considered to be visiting the "world's longest art display." It stretches for more than 110 kilometers (68 miles). Over 150 artists adorned approximately 90 of the 100 stations in diverse themes and shapes. Mosaics, paintings, installations, sculptures, and other forms are included.

There was Jesus Christ in Christianity. There is no prophet or founder in Shintoism. Instead, beginning with the Nara era, Shintoism was recreated with Buddhism as a single religion. This scenario altered during the Meiji period when the emperor's devotion was combined with Shintoism. Kokka Shintoism is the name given to this Shintoism. Kokka Shintoism died out after World War II. Nowadays, we have Jinja Shintoism, which is Shintoism that takes place in shrines.

History was made on 1 April 2001 when the Netherlands became the world’s first country to legalize same-sex marriage. Job Cohen, the mayor of Amsterdam at the time, married four couples at midnight on 1 April to mark the occasion. Many same-sex couples have since happily tied the knot.

According to research at Harvard, anxiety has been indicated in several chronic physical illnesses, including heart disease, chronic respiratory disorders like COPD, gastrointestinal conditions such as IBS, and substance abuse. There is still a lot to learn about the way our body experiences anxiety and how it affects our physical health. However, what is certain is that long-term exposure to increased cortisol levels (i.e., anxiety) leads to decreased immunity and damage to the heart and lungs.

The Philological Society of London proposed the first comprehensive English language dictionary in 1857, including words from the 12th century to the present. The Philological Society joined forces with Oxford University Press in 1879, and work began. The first volume of the dictionary (A to Ant) was published by Oxford University Press in 1884, and the final volume was published in 1928. The dictionary, titled A New English Dictionary on Historical Principles, contained over 400,000 words and phrases. The Oxford English Dictionary (OED) is now one of the most respected and widely used dictionaries in the world.

A few other fictitious-sounding details about pirates are correct. According to National Geographic, battling pirates would have lost limbs from time to time, and some of them would have replaced their missing appendages with a hook or a wooden peg. "Members of the crew... received compensation for the loss of body parts in action—an early form of worker's compensation," according to the Smithsonian Institute.

The 14th Dalai Lama has served as a monk in the Gelug School of Tibetan Buddhism. He is supposed to be the current incarnation of Tibet's last 13 Dalai Lamas. In 1937, the Tibetan government dispatched a search expedition to find the Dalai Lama. They discovered the current Dalai Lama as a toddler, living with his family in a small agricultural hamlet, based on indications and visions. In 1940, he was appointed as Tibet's official spiritual head. He is now renowned as a spiritual rock star as well as a religious figure, and he is famed for his inspirational words of wisdom.

If you've ever been to a synagogue, you'll know that they're generally quite simple and austere places of worship. But not Budapest's Great Synagogue. This Jewish temple on Dohány Street is tall and majestic, with one of the largest and most impressive cathedral naves I've ever seen. It is one of Europe's most beautiful synagogues. The Great Jewish Synagogue, built between 1854 and 1859, seats 3000 people. It is Europe's largest synagogue and the world's second-largest (after Belz Great Synagogue, in Jerusalem).

Though you might think there is a standard procedure to follow if a passenger dies in flight, what happens to your dearly departed cabin-mate varies greatly depending on the airline and type of plane. While some planes, such as Singapore Airlines' Airbus A340-500 planes, were designed with a special place to store bodies, according to one flight attendant, on many flights, the body is simply moved to a back row and covered—except for the head—until medical professionals on the ground can attend to the deceased.

There are quite a few landmarks around the Harvard campus. The most famous one is known as the statue of three lies. It’s called so to account for its three inaccuracies. The sculpture states that it is of John Harvard, the founder of Harvard and that Harvard was founded in 1638. However, John Harvard was not the founder of the university, he was the first major benefactor. Also, Harvard was founded in 1636 and not 1638. What’s more? The sculpture isn’t of John Harvard at all, but that of some unknown student.
 

UNESCO designated kimchi and its traditional practices as intangible cultural heritage of Korea in 2015. Every year, just before winter, families, and communities meet to make kimchi from copious harvests. Kimjang is the name given to this grand event. This is a chance for the community to come together. Participants use this opportunity to discuss, exchange, and establish relationships in addition to joining forces to prepare for winter. Even though many families have switched to commercial kimchis, kimjang festivities remain significant in some locations.

Because they generate sound through lip vibration, instruments like conch shells and shofars (made of hollowed-out animal horns) are still regarded as brass. Since they haven't undergone much modification from their original state and don't have valves or slides to regulate pitch, they are frequently referred to as "natural trumpets." Because the International Space Station (ISS) has Russian-language modules and operations, all astronauts who travel to the ISS must be fluent in the language. According to some astronauts, learning this new language was the most difficult aspect of their training. English-speaking astronauts can expect to spend 1,100 class hours to reach a reasonable level of fluency in Russian, according to the US State Department Foreign Service Institute. That's twice as long as it takes to learn other languages such as French, Spanish, or Dutch.
